On 24th August, Sony India has released a new digital camera, DSC-RX100, which belongs to its Cyber-shot series. According to the company, it is going to be the world’s first (amongst compact digital still cameras) Cyber-shot with 1.0-type 20.2 effective megapixel (MP) sensor and F1.8 lens.
DSC-RX100 is integrated with a 1.0-type Exmor CMOS sensor with a resolution of 20.2 MegaPixels. The sensor has an area that is around four times larger as compared to the 1/2.3-type imager in regular point-and-shoot cameras.This camera is capable of capturing a detail packed images and full HD movie clips with low noise.
The camera sports a 7.5cm (3") LCD screen with 1229k dot resolution. The display is equipped with a new White Magic technology that incorporates white pixels in addition to RGB in order to boost screen brightness.
With this camera, Sony provides the user a choice between auto and manual focus modes for a better control over the image. The camera is highly stylish and sleek and is featured with a black aluminum body.Sony DSC-RX100 can be availed at selected Sony Center and selected key camera stores across India at a price of INR 34,990.
