Micromax Aims 2nd Position in Smartphone Market


Micromax is one of the fastest growing mobile company’s in India. It main aim is to become the second largest smartphone seller in India. Company plans to launch eight new devices in the market soon and it will attract the buyers at large. By the end of 2012 company plans to double its monthly sale by 1.5 lakh units.

Micromax CEO Deepak Mehrotra recently told the media that they are much ahead of their competitors in the smartphone market and they are quite confident of reaching the number two position by end of 2012. In next few weeks they plan to launch four new smartphones in the market and rest other four phones in coming months.

This year in July Micromax sold 67,000 smartphones which much higher than its competitors like HTC. It has gain popularity in India and globally too. The sales volume has increased in past few months.

Mehrotra has also said that consumers always look for value product and price plays an important factor in making a decision. Therefore they ensure that provide quality product at the right price to their consumers. 

Recently company has launched Superfone Pixel A90, a dual SIM phone with 4.3-inch super AMOLED touchscreen along with 8MP camera, 1 GHz processor for the price INR 12,999. They have also launched Superfone Cavas A100, Ninja 3.5 and Ninja 4.

Micromax is also into tablet. Recently in April they had launched FunBook device which has been expanding thereafter.  Funbook Pro, a 10.1-inch version was also launched. Very soon other two devices will be also launched FunBook Alpha and FunBook Infinity.

Mehrotra has mentioned that both smartphones and tablet has added 30 per cent of the revenues in the company’s account.  He hopes that by March 2013 it will increase to 40 per cent.
