Apple has finally won the case against Samsung, which was going on for past one year. U.S. jury has held Samsung for copying the features of Apple iPhone and iPad. Korean company has been ordered to pay U.S. Company $ 1.05 billion. This was the biggest legal battle between two top telecom companies.
Last year in April 2011, Apple had filed the case against Samsung for breaking the law of patent. It had demanded $2.5 billion from Samsung Electronics. In return, Samsung fired back its own lawsuit saying for $399 million.
The jury rejected Samsung’s claims against the Apple and the verdict went in the favour of Apple. However, jury has also decline to pay the full $2.5 billion which Apple has demanded from Samsung as some of Apple claims were not valid.
Samsung had illegally used some of the Apple’s creation like “bounce-back” where in a user could scroll the image to end and also zoom the text with a tap of a finger.
U.S. company lawyers have decided to formally demand the Korean company to pull its mobile phones and tablets from the US market. They have also requested the judge to triple the damage to $3 billion.
After Samsung’s legal defeat many mobile companies, who were relying on Android will become more alert to use the software as they won’t wish to take risk to get into legal matter.Chirstopher Marlette, the CEO of MDB Capital Group has said that “Some of these device makers will actually end up saying that we love Android but we don’t really want to end up apple anymore.’’
Samsung Lawyers have stated that the company has legally given the consumers what they demanded “a smartphone with big screen”. They also claim that they haven’t violated any of the Apple’s patents. They also stated that innovation that is claimed by Apple is actually created by other companies.
“Unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over the rectangles with rounded corners” was stated by Samsung from its headquartered in Seoul.
Samsung also said that today’s judgment should not be considered as Apple’s win but a loss for American market. It will lead to limited choice, less innovation and higher price”.

All i know is in near future, it is going to impact vendors, consumer and the entire tech industry across the world.
